The Mission
Why this guide exists
Schools drive an enormous amount of what happens in Peninsula real estate. They shape where families choose to live, which streets carry a premium, and what a home eventually sells for. For buyers with children, the school assignment is often the single most important factor in the whole decision.
That information is harder to pin down than it should be. Ratings get quoted with no context, boundaries are rarely where people assume they are, and a single city can be split across several districts. I built this guide to gather the answers in one place, clearly sourced and plainly explained, so families can get to a decision without having to assemble it themselves.
Background
Where the approach comes from
Before real estate, I spent about six years as a research scientist in immuno-oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb, with peer-reviewed work published in the field. I hold an M.S. in biotechnology from the University of Delaware and a B.S. in biology from the Lebanese American University.
Working in research at a global biotech company sets a high standard for how you treat data, and that is the standard I have carried into this guide.
Personal
Where I come from
I grew up in Lebanon and came to the United States for graduate school. I work with buyers and sellers of every background across the Peninsula. I speak English and Arabic, which now and then turns out to be useful for a family making this decision from far away.
Beyond Real Estate
Outside of work
I travel when I can, usually back to Lebanon to see family and friends. I cook a lot, mostly for myself and for whoever I can talk into coming over. And I have a standing habit of hunting down new coffee shops, both around the Bay and in every city I visit.
